Very simply… we love clothes.    It all began with my grandmother who instilled in my mother a love of shopping and clothes.  My mother, in turn, did the same for me.   I could never own enough.  “One more top, please!” Shopping was always a wonderful event.   Now I have two wonderful daughters and   guess what?   The family clothing addiction has continued to the next generation .  The closets swelled. There was no choice…the only way to satisfy out hunger was to open a store so we could shop for a living.….and in 1986 that is what we did.   From its humble beginnings the store was built on love and very personal customer service.  That original store was sold when we moved to Long Beach, but our  obsession  for clothes and shopping continued.  The only solution was to combine our love for clothing with our love for Long Beach.  So, that is how PINUP began.  After all, who wanted to ‘go over the bridge to satisfy the shopping hunger?   Certainly not us!
